Lacquer Land Release!

Hello, guys!

Today, I have a special post.

First, a bit of organising, shall we? I currently have 1, 2.. 15, 16.. 17 polishes! (they're actually 17 because I used the last few drops of green for.. something, I can't say anything else.. Oh, and there are also 3 polishes which you'll find out about if you keep reading) I must say, I'm quite disappointed by the Maybelline polish, when I removed it, my fingers were turquoise, and I struggled to get my nails less.. coloured (the pigment stayed on the nail and I used 3 cotton pads with acetone to remove some of it, but I just couldn't get it off my nails.. Maybe I should've peeled it). I guess I'll never use it again on a bare nail (even though I had applied two layers of base coat), but when I'll do gradient nails (especially with my lovely yellow jelly).

The polish I'll swatch and review today is Lacquer Land Paradise.

And yeah, now you'll all be like: "Lacquer Land? I've never heard about this brand!" Of course you haven't, because.. It's my -unreleased yet- indie brand!

I started this a little while ago, when I wanted to send one of my frankens to a blogger. I currently have 4 Lacquer Land polishes in the "Crazy For Greens" collection, which is also the first one, and 3 of them are going to be soon delivered! I make polishes to people's requests, I still have 4 more requests to do and surely will have more! If you want to place an order, remember: there'll never be two identical polishes! Each one is different, as they're made to order. And also, the tags are all handmade, so their shapes, backgrounds and extras will automatically be different from a bottle to another.

You must request at least one polish to place an order, and some of you will also get a surprise polish, which you'll discover in the moment you receive your package. The pricves will be in EUR or GBP, and they depend on the complexity level of each request. For example, if you want a pale violet with glitters, this is a low complexity level, so it would cost about 1.5 GBP (1 to 1.6 EUR).  If you want a mix of more colours and glitters/flecks (just an example), this would be a high complexity level, so the price would be around 4 to 5 GBP (5 to 6 EUR). Place your orders (requests) and number of bottles at silvia.simion@gmail.com . You might be lucky and also get a gift!

Anyway, I talk too much. Presenting Lacquer Land Paradise! It's a gorgeous mix of sky blue, baby blue and 2 different teal tones, packed up with multicoloured glitters and tiny crimson hexes. I built this opacity in 2 coats, but I think 1 thick coat could've worked as well as 2 thin coats. Below are some pictures. Kisses! xx

Skittle Mani

Hello!

I'm not used yet to shorties and doing nail-art on them, but I couldn't wait anymore, so I grabbed (about) 13 polishes and cancelled everything for more than 2 hours to do this skittle mani.

Left hand (thumb to pinky): Glitter Gradient, Summer Ombré, Ruffian, Pink Galaxy, Caviar Chains.
Right hand (thumb to pinky): Glitter Flowers, Glitter Sandwich, Glitter Gradient, Caviar Chain, Light Ombré.

Here are the polishes I used as bases: Gabrini Elegant 300 (base coat), Leydi 700 (top coat), Golden Rose Paris 209 (yellow jelly), Golden Rose Paris in Forest Green (no number, sorry, I had to give it a name), Golden Rose Care + Strong 179 (neon orange-coral shimmer crelly), Golden Rose Care + Strong 172 (neon pink-fuchsia crelly), Maybelline Colo Rama 654 Super Power Blue (azure créme).

The polishes I used for the models are: Classics 180 (multi-colored & holo glitter topper), Essence Time For Romance (multi-dimensional round glitters, hexes and holo glitter in a sheer crimson base), Essence Chic Reloaded (black multichrome polish; shifts to purple, green and, sometimes, to golden), Essence Absolutely Blue (baby blue créme), Maybelline Colo Rama 654 Super Power Blue, Golden Rose Care + Strong in Silver (full-coverage silver shimmer mixed with fine silver glitters; again, no number on the tag), no-name white nail art polish, Golden Rose Paris 206 (pale pinkish-lilac crelly), Golden Rose Paris 108 (eggplant créme), Golden Rose Paris 209, Golden Rose Care + Strong 172.

I also used caviar beads, which I applied one by one onto the nails with a toothpick dipped in clear polish.

Below are some photos. I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll see you really soon, probably with a summer-y ombré manicure. Kisses! xx

Brand New!

Hello there!

Sorry for not posting in a while, but I'm here with a fresh post including my sweet newbies!

(Offtopic: again, I can't find my Canon camera, so I downloaded an app from Google Play Store which improved the quality of my pictures. Enjoy less blurriness! Aaaaaand my back-to-shorties nails. I have no idea why they keep breaking!)

Two days ago I bought some great Essence polishes, and today I bought a Maybelline Colorama and a glitter topper from Classics.

I was running out of black, so I bought Essence Black Is Back, a créme with such a perfect formula and it is perfectly opaque and super shiny in just two thin coats!

As I was looking through the Essence racks, I found the last bottle of Grey-t To Be Here. It's such a lovely polish! It's a light grey créme with a slight touch of fine iridescent (?) glitter in a cute pink tone. The glitter is hard to photograph, as I'd need to try different hand poses, but I actually captured it a bit.

Today, after my freshmens meeting, I went to Kendra and bought Maybelline Colo Rama 654 Super Power Blue, a rich azure ("creamy blue") polish. I swatched it in only one coat (yes, it's that opaque!) over Essence Black Is Back.

And, after that, while I was at the underground station, I popped into a small shop and bought Classics 180, the very last multi-coloured and holo glitter topper they had. Yay! It seems I had lots of luck, as the Maybelline polish was only one on full stock (about 10 in the Kendra store).

Anyway, I'll leave you with the swatches. Kisses! xx

Essence - Grey-t To Be Here (2 thin coats, 1 thin layer of top coat)

Essence - Black Is Back (2 thin coats, 1 thin layer of top coat)

Kendra rules!

Maybelline Colo Rama 654 Super Power Blue (1 thin coat over Black Is Back, no top coat)

Classics 180 (applied using the dabbing techinque over Black Is Back, no top coat)

Quick Post

Hello, guys!

I'm not going to post any brand new nail-art, as my nails are very short and I've run out of clear polish. Right now I'm working on some frankens, which I'm looking forward to send to some other bloggers for reviews.

Follow my blog with Bloglovin, please, as Google Reader is no longer available.

And also, Agota from NailGlaze has a giveaway open for Romania only, if you're interested.

Nail Skittles

Hello, guys!

My surgery went awesome, now I'm recovering at home and the pain at the top of my throat goes away more and more by each day.

This was supposed to be a full-of-tags post, but Blogger only allows me 200 characters for tags, so..

Anyway, this mani is something I've wanted to do for a while. It's a skittle mani. For this one, I chose to do th following nail-art models:
-Ruffian
-Waterfall (inspired by Sammy from The Nailasaurus)
-Honeycomb (unfortunately, the glequins curled at the sides)
-Half Moon
-Double Chevron
-Swirls
-Dream Catcher
-Caviar Border

I used about 14 polishes, so I won't be able to list them all. I got the caviar beads at a really low price - about 30p, if I remember well - and I still have 1/4 of the tiny bottle. I bought the glequins mixed up with hearts and stars in a medium-sized (?) container. For placing them all, I used a toothpick and some clear polish blobbed on a sticky note.

The beads' placing for those nails took me neither more, nor less than half an hour, and also, I was pretty annoyed that my glequins and the star on the right pinky nail curled and couldn't stick too well without two or three very thin coats of my top coat. Saying very thin, because I used too much thinner and it got very watery. Hoping I could make the glequins stay on my nails (and actually managed to!), I dotted some silver polish where 2 or 3 of them met. I also used a glitter franken I did a while ago, mixing a bottle of fine gold, silver and red glitter in a gold tinted base with a bottle of clear-based, silver bar glitter. This polish caught TONS of tiny air bubbles (the way some others did, too), but (don't ask why) it looks really cute!

The right pinky nail required several coats of top coat, so goodbye, matte finish!

This is such a long post, but I hope you like it. If you mind giving some models a try, leave links to posts in your comments. Kisses! xx

Spun Sugar Nails

Hello!

This will be the last post for a while, but I'm looking forward to having a guest post on Monday, if possible.

Anyway, here's a fresh post and, because I was so excited to share it with you, I haven't done my right hand yet.

It's about Spun Sugar nails. Here are the steps.

1. Choose a base colour (I chose 3 jelly polishes for this one: GR 209, Gabrini S01 -pink- and Gabrini S12 - turquoise).

2. Apply some greasy cream around your nails and on your fingers (I used my essential beeswax balm). Scotch tape might work well, too!

3. Add a few drops of a different polish on wax paper or something else useful (I used an adhesive note).

4. Give it 5-10 minutes to get tacky, then stir with a toothpick. Slowly lift the toothpick and, if the polish is stringy, you can apply it on the nail just like this: stir a bit in the polish, lift the toothpick and drag the polish string on the nail, and keep doing this until you reach the desired look.

5. The cleanup is easy: just remove the excess polish on your skin and cuticles with the toothpick, or simply remove the tape surrounding your nail. It's easier if you apply vaseline or chapstick on the skin, anything greasy keeps polish from drying on the skin, so you don't waste a lot of polish remover. Also, it's a lot less messy. And here's a useful tip: before the cleanup, slightly press the strings' ends on the sides of your nails. In this way, you can get a nicer finish after the full cleanup.

It's a 3D/textured pattern, so I recommend skipping top coat at leat for this manicure. Also, try to do it early during daytime, not in the evening, as the polish dries very slow, so you have to give it some time to make sure it won't be ruined by the next day.

You can also mix it with other patterns, like I did on my ring (Tribal-like + Spun Sugar) and index nails (Geometric + Spun Sugar).

God, I love how it feels! This will definitely be my must-have manicure this summer. Anyway, I hope this tutorial helps, and I'll see you again in 1-2 weeks. Fingers crossed for my surgery on Monday! xx

P.S.: Basically summer in Romania. -.- (The rain was pouring hard, unfortunately my camera wouldn't take a clear, unblurred shot.)

Golden Rose Paris Swatch + Review

Hello!

It's been a while since my last post, but here's the swatch I promised ages ago!

It's about Golden Rose Paris 209, the yellow polish I bought together with Essence Absolutely Blue (I used it a lot, so now there's only half of the polish left).

Here are a few things about this polish.

1. It's actually a true jelly polish, not a crelly, as I said before (maybe not really crelly, but something like that).

2. I found the applying of the first coat really tricky, as it didn't spread evenly, so there were obvious brush marks.

3. It dries really quick, and the formula is perfect, applies smoothly.

4. As I said, it's a jelly polish, so it requires several coats to build the desired opacity.

5. I love this color so much, and it seems this summer I'l wear it a lot!

I'd say more things about this awesome polish, but I think it would take ages to finish this post. Below are shown 4 coats, still not perfectly opaque but it's not very noticeable. And yeah, back to shorties, because three of my nails broke and I couldn't do anything about it but just.. cut them all. Anyway, I can handle things easier now, and I'm starting to like short nails. Is it normal? Kisses! xx
